Exchange Program

International Exchange Program

The most fruitful cultures and societies have always been, and still are, those with the capacity to assimilate contributions from outside of themselves and create the conditions that allow cultural hybridisation to thrive; this is also why all artists need to confront and dialogue with cultural and social contexts other than their own, allowing them to mature as artists, regenerate themselves and enrich their work. It is also in the interests of young artists to enter international arts circuits of discussion, reflection and visualization.

For this reason, Hangar has established exchange programs for artists with various centres around the world. Consists of a 4 months residence for an artist in their workshop, with a grant for production and living expenses. Hangar has exchange programs with Duende in Rotterdam (Holland), Fonca/Cenart in Mexico and the Fondazione Pistoletto in Biella (Italy). Over the next few years, Hangar will expand this circle of exchanges through agreements with other similar centres.
