Getting there

By car

The road that ascends to Queralt starts in Berga in the direction of Sant Llorenç. It is duly signposted. From the Eix del Llobregat (C-1411/E-9), Berga can be reached via the north entrance and continue in the direction of San Llorenç de Morunys (BV4241). After three or four kilometres, turn right onto the road to Queralt. It is the same road that goes to Els Rasos de Peguera (BV4242). Once in Queralt, parking is available for about a hundred vehicles.

On foot

The ascent to Queralt by foot is a pleasant stroll. The walk takes forty-five minutes to an hour. Set out from the Plaça de Sant Pere in Berga and go up to Trencacames, then take the old Queralt trail. Upon reaching Hostal Sant Marc you can choose to ascend as the crow flies, via the face of the mountain, or to follow the road that takes in fountains and the shaded side of the mountain. During the course of the hike you will stumble upon a series of chapels, including the chapels of Sant Jacint, Sant Jaume and Els Dolors, allowing you to make pit-stops. On the shaded side of the mountain you will see the Chapel of Sagrada Família. On reaching the top, you will see the Three Crosses, erected in memory of the three Hail Marys the pilgrim recited on reaching Queralt.

On getting to Queralt

To get to the sanctuary, you can use the inclined funicular, which operates every day except Mondays. Alternatively, you can climb the stairs bordering the mountain to enjoy the magnificent landscape.

Once in the sanctuary

Ramps have been built from the funicular to facilitate disabled access to the church and to the so-called Pati dels Castanyers (Chestnut Tree Courtyard).
