Circostrada Network

Circostrada is a European information and exchange network on street arts and new circus. HorsLesMurs, French National Center for development of street arts and circus arts, founded it in 2003. Consisted of about 30 correspondents chosen for their knowledge of the sectors in their country, the Circostrada network’s goal is to work on the development and structuring of street arts and circus arts in Europe.

Women & Circus

“Žene & Cirkus // Women & Circus” is a bilingual book (Croatian/English) on women’s role in the development of this progressive performing genre. The book was produced after the same-named multidisciplinary conference held in Zagreb, Croatia. Historians, ethnologists, theatre specialists, social and cultural anthropologists, artists and journalists offer their view on women’s essential contribution to the circus history and present.

The richly illustrated book also presents 191 photographs and illustrations from private and public archives.

Editor of the book is Ivan Kralj, one of the most awarded Croatian journalists, director of Croatian Festival novog cirkusa and project manager of Circus Information Archive in Zagreb.

Cirque en Transhumance in Jaca (Aragon), 30th September and 1st Octobrer 2011

La Grainerie, project leader of circ que o! Pyrénées de cirque, Le Lido and six project partners are inviting to Cirque en Transhumance.



This third edition of Cirque en Transhumance intends to be an assessment of circ que o! Pyrénées de cirque. Being part of the Year of the Pyrenees, this itinerant event presents projects created by groups which have been supported by circ que o! This demonstration aims to promote exchanges between stakeholders of European and cross-border cooperation.

Spoffin - Multi-Arts Festival at Amersfoort, Netherlands, 25th - 28th August

The full program of Festival Spoffin 2011 in Amersfoort, The Netherlands, is now online. Spoffin starts on Thursday, August 25th with a special evening called Amuses in Theater De Flint and lasts until Sunday, August 28th. The festival houses more than 150 performances and concerts, by around 40 groups from the Netherlands and all over Europe.

Circus and Street Arts: Professional Organisations in Europe

Circostrada Network has updated the guide "Circus and Street Arts: Professional Organisations in Europe".

Since 2009, Circostrada Network strengthens its dialogue with the circus and street arts trade unions and federations that work within the European territory. In order to facilitate exchange and cooperation, Circostrada Network publishes every year a detailed directory of these organisations.

Circostrada Meeting in Prague

Circostrada Network organises its second meeting 2011 in Prague (Czech Republic) from the 25th to the 28th August, in partnership with Cirqueon and Cirkoskop as part of the Letni Letna festival.
The seminar Prague Cirkforum 2011 will be held the 26th of August and will be the occasion to gather the sector of Czech circus arts as well as European operators for a series of subject-related roundtables. This meeting, organised by Cirqueon, will be hosted by Letni Letna Festival.
