Publication : Everyday innovators

Developing innovative work organisation practices in the cultural sector in Europe. An IETM publication - Researched and edited by La Belle Ouvrage.

By providing these accounts, this publication intends to encourage people involved in the cultural sector to seize upon the vast issue of work, and more particularly of working together, and turn it into an area of experimentation in which they can translate the core values of their day-to-day activities into the artistic and cultural projects they oversee.

FEDEC: Skills Development for Educational and Artistic Directors

In 2010, the European Federation of Professional Circus Schools (FEDEC) launched a reflection process and a network consultation about Educational and Artistic Directors’ skills. This work led to MAILLONS, a programme of workshops aimed at enhancing the skills of Educational and Artistic Directors of FEDEC schools, to be implemented from 2011 to 2013.

In 2011, Maillons’ workshops focused on the topic of "Ethics and Deontology in Education", and developed a network Charter on Ethics and Deontology that has recently been published. This common tool is the fruit of consultations carried out internally by FEDEC school directors with their educational teams, the sharing of their experiences in teaching circus arts and network discussions on ethical and deontological issues.

This first Charter on Ethics and Deontology consists of recommendations and non-binding principles, allowing each school to take up its content and breathe life into it through its educational project. Download it here.

Street Arts Winter Academy #2: Practice as research

2012 in Winchester (UK), gathered European professionals and academics to tackle the issue of artistic practice as research.
