La recerca esdevé determinant per l'avenç de la medicina. És per això que el nostre centre disposa d'una Unitat de Recerca creada el març del 2002 on es realitzen treballs propis de recerca així com assajos clínics en patologia prevalent a l'atenció primària. Gràcies, al finançament aconseguit, de beques i premis, d'institucions públiques i privades per portar a terme els diferents projectes.

Des del 2009, forma part de l'Institut d'Investigació Biomèdica Sant Pau acreditat per l'Institut de Salut Carlos III de Madrid.

Our research unit team is integrated by Dr. Carlos Brotons as a researcher and coordinator, Irene Moral as statistician. Mireia Puig and Patricia Méndez as research nurses. Dra. Diana Fernández and Dr. Rubén Fuentes are also members of the research team involved in different studies.

Cooperate with other research teams at IIB Sant Pau.
Cooperate with other European institutions in implementing projects on risk prevention and health promotion in primary care settings.
Encourage research into medical ethics in family medicine training.
