Tonight, at Plaza Barceló, volunteers affected by a spinal injury due to traffic accidents will address young people to remind them of the importance of not mixing alcohol, drugs and driving.
Municipal Police agents will also participate in the action by performing preventive breathalyzer controls. Red Cross volunteers also collaborate in the campaign.
Inmaculada Sanz, spokesperson for the Madrid City Council and delegate for Security and Emergencies, and Georgina Flamme, Manager of the Abertis Foundation, have presented this morning the collaboration of both entities in this initiative to raise awareness of road safety.

The impact of traffic accidents with child victims, an international study by the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) conducted by the Abertis Foundation, seeks to raise awareness of the negative effects that traffic accidents can cause, especially those that infolve vulnerable groups such as children.

Abertis, through its Foundation, organizes various meetings related to sustainability, the environment and climate change, both in the COP25-IFEMA space and at its headquarters, located on the ‘Castellana Verde’ axis.
In Castellana, in front of the company’s headquarters, the outdoor exhibition ‘Our biosphere, our future. Local actions for the Sustainable Development Goals’ has been installed.
Within the actions to reduce energy expenditure, the company turns off the interior lights of its offices at night.
The Abertis Foundation has been the promoter of the Castellet Declaration for the Protection of Biodiversity, which warns of the serious consequences that the current pace of biodiversity loss can have on the planet and the fulfillment of the SDGs.

A shocking communication action has begun this week and has captured the interest of the public in a place where it is not common to receive this type of message, movie theatres.
The Abertis Foundation once again used a real testimony to highlight the risk of misuse of the mobile phone and text messages behind the wheel, through its protagonist, who suffered irreversible injuries due to a traffic accident.
One third of the serious and fatal traffic accidents are caused by a distraction, the smartphone being the first one, according to the DGT.
